We are recruiting for a **Director, People & Culture**
- **_This is a full-time role (minimum 35 hours per week) based at 737 Woolwich St., Guelph with travel as needed._**

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director People & Culture is a strategic leader who is responsible for leading and overseeing the human resources and organizational development that supports the growth of both employees and the agency. The Director People & Culture is responsible for providing leadership in the areas of employee and labour relations, talent management, compensation and benefits, occupational health and safety as well as equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous Reconciliation framework (EDIIR). This will require them to hold themselves and others accountable to (un)learning, to educate self and others about diversity and equity-deserving challenges, systemic issues related to colonialism and oppression, while valuing intercultural contexts. The position also ensures compliance to collective agreements, labour laws and regulations and acts as the key point of contact with government and other regulatory agencies and ministries related to human resource matters.

As a member of the Senior Leadership team, the Director, People & Culture will meet and consult with the Senior team regularly providing a human resource lens to issues and initiatives related to decision making and recommendations affecting the overall strategy and operation of the organization. Additionally, the successful incumbent is a staff member of a sub-committee of the Board of Directors (Resources Committee) and will directly oversee the Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion Lead and Manager, Human Resources.

**Key roles and responsibilities for this position include**:

- Through actions, supports the Mission, Vision, Values, Principles and Policies and Procedures of CMHA WW.
- Provides strategic leadership and consulting support to senior team and management for setting goals, policy development, staff allocation and management to ensure goals are met.
- Plans and develops strategic training and organization talent development. Oversees the performance management system as well as the development programs.
- Ensures all HR policies, programs and practices comply with applicable labour legislation.
- Develops and manages annual budgets for HR and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses, as well as providing overall input into agency budgeting related to HR items.
- Directs and negotiates OPSEU collective bargaining agreement; prepares and presents management proposals.
- Leads the development and administration of benefits programs, compensation structures as well as compliance and reporting functions.
- Oversees the development, implementation and assessment of strategic equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous Reconciliation framework (EDIIR) policies and practices.
- Participates as member of the Resources Committee of the Board which performs an auditing and review function over human resource and finance issues before the Board. Answers questions about reporting and compiles information in a succinct manner before presentation to the Board.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in the field of Human Resources Management, Business, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline, coupled with a CHRL or CHRE designation or equivalent. Master’s degree in applicable field would be an asset.
- Minimum of five years’ progressive Human Resources experience at a management level or higher, preferably in the not for profit and/or health/community sector
- Minimum of three years’ experience leading HR teams in a unionized environment
- In depth knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations
- Strong consulting and mentoring abilities
- Excellent project management (planning), communication and presentation skills
- Exceptional people skills expressed through a proactive hands-on approach to developing and maintaining strong relationships with leaders, staff and union partners
- Knowledge of financial processes and statements
- Demonstrated business professionalism, respect for confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information
- Strong alignment with CMHA WW’s Mission, Vision, and Values
- A valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance, as travel is required

The salary range for this position is $123, 505 - $147, 620 in addition to an exceptional pension plan and full complement of benefits.
