RADIUS is looking for a Lab Manager to lead our newest lab: the Equity Centred Accelerator. This portfolio is focused on tackling systemic challenges to entrepreneurship for equity deserving groups pursuing ventures, policy change initiatives, and non-profits addressing complex social, economic, and environmental challenges existing within the communities they are connected to.
This role will have lead responsibility for the management of all RADIUS incubation, acceleration, and support programs for emerging social venture, innovation, and systems change initiatives. All programs will be designed and delivered from an equity centred perspective with a primary focus on centring Black, Indigenous, and racialized entrepreneurs and innovators being underserved by the regional entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. The Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a systems change strategy to help shift the broader social economy and entrepreneurship ecosystems toward equity, justice, and regenerative principles.
The Manager will also develop and support RADIUS research, consulting, and knowledge mobilization efforts to help shift the broader social economy and entrepreneurship ecosystems toward equity, justice, and regenerative economic principles.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Business, Planning, Communications, Public Policy or related discipline and five years' experience in a management capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active and intersectional understanding of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI), trauma informed practices, and related systemic impacts on social innovation. This includes a commitment to anti-discrimination towards race, gender, ability, sexuality, religion, and class.
- Demonstrated skills in implementing and advancing a JEDI framework to operations/HR, program development, recruitment, and delivery.
- Excellent facilitation, curriculum development and process design skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong networks within communities impacted by RADIUS Lab Areas.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong networks within the RADIUS Lab sector.
- Good knowledge of theory and practice in social innovation and/or systems change and/or social entrepreneurship.
- Ability to deploy strong consulting and customer service skills to listen to the needs of others and frame opportunities around them, synthesize findings, design and implement new systems-focused projects and interventions.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage time, engage teams, and allocate resources.
- Familiarity and proficiency with project management frameworks and tools.
- Ability to effectively manage program budgets, financial planning and reporting.
- Ability to manage relationships with core team, program participants, and broader stakeholders.
- Ability to work in independent, highly dynamic situations with multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to create reports and blogs independently.
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
- General knowledge of health equity and health systems innovation, Indigenous-led entrepreneurship and innovation, Migrant settlement systems and issues of migrant justice, and other areas of systemic focus for future RADIUS labs.
