We currently have an opportunity on our Operations team as a Junior Batch Plant Operator based out of our Steinbach, MB plant.

In the role of Junior Batch Plant Operator, you would report to the Plant Supervisor and be responsible to:

- Batch concrete according to specifications in a timely and accurate manner.
- Troubleshoot irregularities in batch plant equipment and systems.
- Ensure that safety policies are followed.
- Maintain quality workmanship.
- Operate a small forklift in the plant.
- Previous experience operating a concrete batch plant or similar preferred
- Physically able to perform duties including climbing stairs/ladders multiple times a day, and okay with heights
- Experience with batching software
- Basic maintenance experience and a mechanical aptitude
- Strong mathematical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic concrete/precast knowledge
- Demonstrate great teamwork and maintain a positive work environment

- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Have a commitment to Continuous Improvement
- Able to problem solve and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of being flexible and adaptable to varying day to day assignments
- Able to work overtime and shift work to meet production needs
- Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment.
- Familiar with general maintenance practices of heavy equipment would be an asset.

**Conditions of Employment**
- Physically fit to do manual labour and heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Physically be able to bend, stand, walk and the ability to move light to moderate material or equipment is required.
- Must hold a current driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving abstract/record.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
