**About the Opportunity**
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Buyer/Planner to join our dynamic Supply Chain team. You will be a key player in ensuring the right products are ordered at the right time and in the right quantity to meet both US and Canadian sales forecasts and trends. This role is pivotal in optimizing inventory management, working closely with Sales and Product Management teams to maintain service levels and achieve business goals.
More specifically, some of your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Maintain and update forecast requirements within NetStock forecasting system.
- Analyze sales history, trends, and economic conditions to anticipate buying patterns and determine optimal inventory levels.
- Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process by collaborating with sales teams to gather customer insights and preferences.
- Execute purchase orders with suppliers, confirm pricing, and monitor warehouse inventory levels.
- Adjust forecasts and replenishment schedules to meet service-level goals and optimize lead times.
- Collaborate with Product Management on items nearing end-of-life, high MOQ/MOV items, and overall inventory velocity.
- Resolve quality issues with suppliers, negotiate reparations, and trace outstanding shipments to ensure timely deliveries.
- Prepare reports on purchasing and inventory performance, and maintain accurate material transaction records within the MRP/ERP system.
- Coach customer service reps on front-line inventory management concepts and best practices.
**About You**
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing / inventory buying role with strong knowledge of forecasting, procurement, planning, and logistics. The top competencies sought in addition to inventory management include; analytical decision making, collaboration, problem solving and strong communication.
In addition, if you have strong knowledge and/or experience in the following it would be beneficial:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or a related field
- SCM Professional certification through the Supply Chain Management Association
- Proficiency with computerized MRP systems and forecasting programs is considered
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
