Vernon, Canada Great West Equipment Full time

Succeeding in business is about more than selling great products. If you want to make a real impact, you have to provide something special to the community, and make accountability and integrity your number one priority.

We're **Great West Equipment**, and we do just that. We're a privately owned heavy equipment machine business consisting of eleven branches that operate throughout every region of British Columbia and the Yukon. The driving force behind our organization is the sincere commitment to our people, their focus on exceeding customers' expectations and the values that we live by every day:
**_BALANCE INTEGRITY GROWTH COMMITMENT ACCOUNTABILITY RESPECT_**

Now we're looking to add a new member to our growing team: someone who is organized, enjoys a fast-paced environment, and thrives on continuous learning.

**You'll love working here.**

As the Health and Safety assistant Coordinator you play an integral role in the effectiveness of the Health and Safety Program at Great West Equipment. This role provides company wide support delivering training and HSE support to ensure compliance with Great West Equipment HSE policies.

**What's in it for you **

We're a growing business in an exciting industry, and we're a supportive, caring group. We offer a competitive compensation package, which includes full health and dental, plus a company sponsored RRSP plan. You're going to have an amazing feeling of fulfilment when your efforts help your team and drive us to become leaders in safety and health and each customer's first choice for equipment, parts, and service.

**Success in this role looks like**
- **A “Service First” mentality**. It's our company slogan and you are driven to support external and internal customers with exceptional service. Your professional, pleasant demeanor will reinforce our brand with outside stakeholders. You are a Team Player who is Accountable and Solution Focused.

**An Effective Trainer**. You will develop curriculum, collect and prepare training materials and provide effective and engaging safety training for all types of employees. You will monitor training requirements and ensure that all employees maintain a current training status.
- **Ability. **You have the ability to learn our systems and processes, and to develop skills with software products including Microsoft Office. You will already have good Excel skills, and you're not afraid of learning new programs and the changes that come with them.
- **Order** You'll have a personal proven organization system that helps you control your workflow, maintain attention to detail, and support your team members. You love creating efficiencies and you are not afraid of change. Your organizational skills assist you with the pressure of meeting deadlines that are sometimes urgent.
- **Tenacity.** You'll catch on to the jobs and routines quickly and you'll jump in to complete them thoroughly, and in a timely manner with minimum supervision. Curiosity, and personal motivation will spur you on to seek opportunities to make a positive difference. You'll stay busy all day - and notice how time flies
- **Communication.** You are a great communicator in person, in writing and in audio-visual media. You need to collect and distribute information across a wide variety of audiences including supervisors, employees, customers, 3rd party safety entities, and you do it with professionalism and confidentiality. You are able to navigate difficult situations or people and you are able to support employees and management at all of the geographically diverse locations.

**.Champion.** You'll become a champion for safety and grow to understand our safety programs, procedures and the importance of carefully following the required practices. We're thrilled if you have already had experience with health and safety management systems - if not, you'll be the type of person who jumps in and learns quickly.
