**Position Overview**:
The current starting rate for this position is $24.79/hour.

**Principle Duties & Responsibilities**:
Employees in this position perform a variety of labouring tasks involving the construction, maintenance and repairs related to wastewater collection and water distribution systems. Duties may include the repair of water main breaks, flushing of distribution systems, thawing distribution systems, and the flushing and cleaning of collection systems.
Uses equipment and material for thawing and freezing distribution systems. Uses equipment and material in flushing and cleaning collection systems.
Assist in street isolation during construction and maintenance operations.
Performs distribution system flushing operations.
Assist in isolation and repair of water main breaks.
Maintain log of service and maintenance work.
Assist in the setup of batter boards.
Follow Acts, Regulations, Bylaws, Agreements, policies and procedures.
Follow Act, Regulations and policies of Occupational Health & Safety.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Required Qualifications**:
Entry Level - Grade 12, Driver’s License.

Level I - Entry Level Qualifications plus Class I Certification in either Wastewater Collection or Water Distribution, plus Fireman’s Certification or Hoisting and Rigging Certification.

Ability to perform light and heavy labouring work in an outdoor, dirty environment.
