**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Market Research Assistant will support the Marketing Manager in executing new marketing initiatives such as updating the website, SEOs, AODA compliance, and marketing materials to align ourselves with the company’s new brand/ positioning strategy.

The **Market Research Assistant** key roles and responsibilities are as follows:
**Website and Social Media**
- Update and manage Search Engine Optimization parameters with contracted partners.
- Optimize SEOs to attract new organic traffic to the website - Monitor competition monthly.
- Repair broken website links when called out by website consultants weekly.
- Analyze overall efficiencies of the website - Monitor monthly traffic monthly via Google Analytics.
- Align web flow and landing pages with SEO updates for desired traffic.
- Provide weekly IP address reports on visitors visiting MCIS’ website.
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) - Update quarterly to ensure compliance.
- Management, development, and/or formatting of content and visual elements to be included on the website - Mainly images for AODA.

**Marketing Support Tasks**
- Manage the distribution of marketing materials for, Clients, internal users, and trade shows.
- Update and manage business cards and marketing literature inventory regularly.
- Coordinate the shipping/pick-up of booths for trade shows and conferences.
- Liaise and coordinate with designers, photographers, videographers, and printers.
- Maintain and update creative freelancer databases.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives - Reach, ROI.
- Along with the director analyze the effectiveness of all marketing efforts including their contribution to the effectiveness of sales campaigns, website, and social media traffic.

**Marketing Research Assistance**
- Research competitors' products/services, websites, and pricing.
- Maintain and update a quarterly competitors report specific to Canada.
- Conduct surveys geared towards clients and language professionals when required.
- Measure and report on the success of marketing campaigns.

**Any other tasks related to the Marketing & Business Development Department and the vision of MCIS.**

**EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS**

The Market Research Assistant should have a general post-secondary education (university degree/college diploma) with a focus on Business Administration or Marketing. A combination of experience and training would also be required.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**

The Market Research Assistant requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience to effectively fulfill the functions of this position. This related experience will be sales, creating and analyzing sales reports; responding to client needs; identifying and meeting customer needs and expectations; effectively managing projects through planning and scheduling, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

**This is a temporary independent contractor position for one (1) year. The Market Research Assistant may work up to ten (10) hours per week on an on-call basis.**
