**Job responsibilities**
- Supervise and mentor a team of three, providing coaching, feedback, and support to help them achieve their professional goals and their monthly KPIs
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all relevant regulations
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, optimizing processes for increased efficiency
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, contributing to key business decisions
- Collaborate cross-functionally to gather financial data and insights to support decision-making, including profit maximization recommendations
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to guide organizational planning
- Stay informed about industry regulations, and best practices, to ensure the team's continuous professional development
- Act as the primary liaison for the CRA and our Accounting Firm
- Support our outsourced payroll supplier
- Manage AnswerPlus’ employee benefit program
- Lead, mentor, and team development, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Conduct regular performance reviews, setting goals, and providing ongoing feedback to team members

**Monthly**:

- Review all monthly income statements for all departments, analyzing the numbers to ensure accuracy, as well as outline any deviations from the budget
- Reconciliations
- Verify the precision and timely delivery of all billings and reports through a comprehensive review process
- Review all collections to verify that each client is either in good standing with payments or has been deactivated
- Maintain on-time payments to our vendors
- Verifying that payroll is processed accurately and on schedule
- Track all departmental KPIs
- Perform routine system audits to verify the proper functioning of all billing and financial tools

**Annually**:

- Assist with the preparation of our annual budget
- Conduct a review to ensure the efficiency of our financial services processes
- Assist in year-end preparation and protocol
- Oversee standalone projects related to financial services that are beyond the scope of regular day-to-day responsibilities

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- A minimum of five years of proven experience in **financial management or accounting roles with 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity.**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting
- Proficient in financial modelling and analysis and reporting
- Proficient in Sage, ADP, Microsoft Office, and Windows programs
- Previous payroll processing experience would be a vital asset
- Experience with HRIS systems, i.e., ADP Workforce Now
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team
- Demonstrated experience in talent development, team building, and performance management
- Extensive experience with data entry and record-keeping
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with mínimal supervision and prioritize workload
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
- A flexible team player with a demonstrated ability to collaborate and support colleagues
- Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
