Director of Commercial Property Management

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Commercial Property Management for Canada, this is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join the Property Management team in Vancouver as a Director of Commercial Property Management. The Property Management department’s primary objective is to serve the tenants within the Canadian Commercial Portfolio. This is completed through a variety of avenues, including building & site maintenance and performance. **What You Will Do**:
- Manage day to day operations for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties
- Develop strong relationships with your subordinates, tenants, contractors, strata’s, and vendors
- Manage and provide direction to staff, which may include, but is not limited to administrators, property managers, and site staff
- Conduct site visits with property managers and site staff
- Review financial statements and budgets on a regular basis
- Review leases, licenses, contracts and agreements as required
- Ensure monthly service contracts are in place and are being completed in a timely professional manner
- Review and ensure that all building and site maintenance is in accordance with the Company’s standard
- Assist with tenant move-ins and move-outs as required
- When needed, assist and help manage tenant improvements
- Assist in obtaining bids and budgeting
- Manage annual budgeting process for the portfolio
- Work closely with the Accounting, Development, Leasing and Construction team on various projects
- On-Call emergency response as required
- Other duties as required
- A/R collection duties as required, assist with capital projects and capital planning.
**What you bring**:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive commercial real estate experience working directly for a landlord or third party management company
- Must be technology/computer proficient
- Must be personable and reliable
- Have a good understanding of both the operational and financial aspect of commercial property management
- Must have a valid BC driver's license and a reliable vehicle available on a daily basis
- Able to meet deadlines
- Proven capabilities in multi-tasking, problem solving and prioritizing workloads
- Good understanding of building systems and overall construction
- Experience with varied asset classes (office, industrial, retail, mixed used and air space parcels) is a benefit
- Must be willing to travel in and out of province if required.
