**ABOUT THE POSITION**
The Pottery Service Area broadly includes a wide range of activities including studio time, workshops, and programs. NVRC is looking for an individual to oversee the two (2) pottery studios and one arts space that offers pottery studio activities. This position also provides support an instructional team in the delivery of pottery programs, while creating a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming environment.

The Pottery Studios Supervisor oversees the pottery studios at Delbrook Community Recreation Centre and Parkgate Community Centre and pottery services support at the Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre. This position requires professional and technical expertise in all areas of ceramic production and studio management, including Health & Safety, WHIMIS, and other studio policies and procedures that meet NVRC and industry standards. The Pottery Studios Supervisor is responsible for the operations of the studios as well as leading occasional workshops and classes. This position oversees a team of instructors and technicians and coordinates daily operations with other external NVRC teams. This is a key role in building positive relationships with the community.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- Thorough knowledge of the workings of a pottery studio and health and safety standards
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in various styles of ceramics as well as leading workshops and teaching all levels
- Minimum of 3 years in a role supervising staff
- Proven technical knowledge and experience with studio materials including research, preparation, testing, and developing all recipes and glazes used in the studio
- This position requires access to a vehicle (mileage is reimbursed at appropriate rates)
- Standard First Aid and CPR level C

**HOURLY RATE**:
The pay for this casual position ranges from $32.00 - $35.00 an hour, based on training and experience.
