Ece with Infant Toddler

By joining our Clever Raven AHS team as a full-time Early Childhood Educator (ECE), you'll work closely with parents and other ECEs to promote a welcoming, supportive, safe environment for parents/caregivers, and their children.
You'll develop, implement and supervise activities in a culturally supportive environment to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social needs of children within our program. You'll assist in maintaining routines, provide positive guidance, and help build their self-esteem.
This is a temporary FT position (parental leave backfill) with potential to turn into a permanent PT/FT position.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
- Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- May supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
- Serve snacks and lunch to the children
- Clean/ Sanitize the toys/centre
- Report any unsafe conditions, practices or injuries to their supervisor as soon as possible
- Set a good safety example and practice H&S policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:
- Excellent Communicator
- Strong Interpersonal skills
- Relationship builder
- Must enjoy working in a team environment
- 2 yrs of directly related experience working with & supervising children, delivering structured curriculum & classes, care and supervision including children with Canadian Aboriginal ancestry
**GENERAL REQUIREMENTS**:
- Current & recognized Early Childhood Education Certification (ECE) in BC
- Infant/Toddler Certificate
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Criminal Record Review
- Food Safety Certificate
- Immunization record
- BC Driver’s License required
- Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility (up to 8 hrs)
- Able to lift up to 20 lbs (on a regular and continuing basis)
Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
