Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, removing rubbish, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs. Ensures all work is carried out within the context of the agency’s Mission Statement, board-approved policies and organizational practices.

Ø Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.

Ø Gather and empty trash, wastebaskets, recycling bins

Ø Transports trash, waste recyclables to the disposal area

Ø Washes walls, windows, door panels, trims and sills

Ø Washes both manually and using power washer and disinfects pool deck and pool changing rooms floors, walls, showers and cubicle areas

Ø Service, clean, and supply restrooms.

Ø Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.

Ø Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

Ø Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.

Ø Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems. Replace light bulbs.

Ø Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.

Ø Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.

Ø Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

Ø Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.

Ø Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.

Ø Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.

Ø Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

Ø Set up, arrange, and remove tables, chairs and other program equipment as required.

Ø Arrange for spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.

Ø Ensures an approach that displays a positive attitude, sensitivity and understanding towards people of all abilities, backgrounds and orientation

Ø Carries out other duties as assigned

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
