**The Program**:
The Maintenance team is responsible for ensuring all Hull Services buildings, property and grounds are well maintained and in safe and proper working order. This department is critical to the daily operation our programs in which our employees work and children and youth live.

**The Position**:
We are looking for a **full time Maintenance Team Lead** to support the maintenance team and assist in leading operations of the department. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, this role performs a wide variety of skilled maintenance and repair work requiring expert knowledge of either electrical, plumbing, or HVAC and working knowledge of other skilled trades. On a regular and emergency basis, this role involves building, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining equipment & physical structures as well as performing other related tasks as required. The lead position will assist the Director with day-to-day responsibilities and ensure operational readiness. They will also act as a liaison for the maintenance team in ensuring team members are equipped with the support, tools, and resources to perform their tasks.

The position is based on a 37.5 hour work week and entails “on-call” responsibilities and availability to work after hours and on weekends as scheduled.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Lead and coordinate maintenance activities in assistance to the Director of Infrastructure.
- Maintain efficient and effective repair practices to reduce equipment down time and department wait times.
- Supervise and provide expertise and resources to fellow maintenance team members.
- Address the maintenance day-to-day operational needs of the Agency in the absence of other team members.
- Work closely with the Director of Infrastructure and provide timely feedback as necessary from team members.
- Prepare surfaces for painting. Paint interior and exterior of structures such as walls, woodwork and other fixtures as required.
- Construct, repair, and install furniture items. Complete minor renovation work to buildings as required including framing, drywall, flooring, etc.
- Coordinate required repair for water main and sewer. Repair and regulate taps, toilet flushers and similar items. Replace worn parts, clean and unclog traps and drains on basins, sinks, tubs, etc. Coordinate with drain cleaning professionals for major issues.
- Install and replace electrical fixtures, wiring and equipment. Maintain street lights.
- Troubleshoot and maintain security-related technology, including intrusion alarms, electronic locks and security cameras. Coordinate with integration professionals when required.
- Service, maintain and repair automotive equipment as required. Perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipment. Clean, lubricate and store all maintenance tools and equipment.
- Perform pipefitting, soldering and welding tasks as required.
- Handle pest control (insect/rodent) issues with commercially available deterrents or coordinating with appropriate professionals (e.g. Cal-Rid Exterminators).
- On a seasonal basis, perform snow removal jobs and semi-skilled groundskeeping jobs.
- Install & repair major appliances. Remove and dispose of old appliances, furniture.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks on Agency equipment including lubrication, filter changes, cleaning, etc.
- Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify safety issues on a regular basis. Document monthly inspections on the appropriate form.
- Respond to work requests and work orders using the WorxHub online platform. Record preventative and reactive maintenance to major Agency equipment in WorxHub.
- Assign duties, coordinate, and inspect the work activities of maintenance team.
- Assist with Agency functions, e.g., Stampede Breakfasts, fundraising events, etc.
