**Your work environment**:
By joining the reception team of Saintlo Ottawa Jail Hostel, you will face your first challenge: the grand reopening of the hostel. After leasing the building for the last two years, it's time to go back to our roots and allow travelers to experience the city of Ottawa and create memorable encounters.

On the other hand, you will have the opportunity to say that you work in an old prison alongside other passionate humans.

**Your responsibilities**:
You'll be the first point of contact with the travelers coming into jail. Your mission will be to welcome them in a friendly and professionnal way so that they feel at home. You'll also be their point of contact in the city. You'll share your best tips to make their stay as memorable as possible. Also, from time to time, you will have to use your problem solving skills as some issues may arise.

**More specifically, you will be called to**:

- Perform transactions accurately and efficiently;
- Reconcile daily cash reports;
- Keep the front desk and lobby clean and organized at all times;
- Assist housekeeping with maintaining the overall cleanliness of the hostel by performing duties such as morning bed checks, kitchen clean up, laundry and keeping reception clean and tidy;
- Servicing needs of guests to ensure their stay is an enjoyable one;
- Follow policies and procedures manual when incidents occur;
- Attend information sessions, exhibit openings, etc to stay aware of what’s going on in Ottawa and its surrounding areas.

**You are the perfect person if you have**:

- Retail sales or customer service experience;
- Experience in the hostel industry or similar experience;
- Knowledge of various computer programs including: Outlook, Excel, Word;
- Knowledge of Property Management System : Cloudbeds (an asset)
- Ability to operate in both official languages, an asset.
