Personal Caregiver

Bayshore is growing and we are seeking a **Personal Caregive**r **to assist with last-minute shifts. This is a** Guaranteed Hours (60 hours/bi-weekly)** **position, for a 3-month contract position (with the possibility of extension).

**The Work You Will Do**
As a Personal Caregiver, you will help clients to live safely in their own home by providing high-quality one on one assistance with tasks such as: escorting clients to appointments, running errands (i.e. pick up groceries or medication), providing companionship, light housekeeping (i.e. vacuum, sweep, laundry), meal preparation, medication reminders, outings (Walk), provide personal care, grooming and dressing, through to end of life care. Client needs are varied, and you should be comfortable working with complex diagnosis and cognitive impairments.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensures that the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent
- Perform specialized, client specific procedures for which recognized training and current competency can be demonstrated
- Observe and document client conditions according to company standards; report unusual events or changes in the client’s condition to the immediate Supervisor or to the Office
- Understands and implements infection prevention practices.
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
- Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
- Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
- Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
- Complete other tasks as requested
Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Health Care Aide (HCA) Certificate is required.

**Who You Are**

- You have a reliable mode of transportation
- You have a clear Vulnerable Sector Check or are willing to get one
- You are seeking a Personal Care role, you have completed a formal, accredited caregiver training program and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience
