Job Summary
This position is deemed a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW). A Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW) is defined by the Nuclear Safety and Control Act as a person who is required, in the course of the person’s business, or occupation in connection with a nuclear substance or nuclear facility to perform duties in such circumstances that there is a reasonable probability that the person may receive a dose of radiation that is greater than the prescribed limit for the general public (1 mSv per year for the whole body).
Key Responsibilities
Adherence to approved standards, policies, and procedures.
Produce working drawings, sub-assembly drawings and general assemblies for manufacturing, inspecting, and servicing.
Ensure technical quality and accuracy of project work and obtaining the required approvals.
Maintain liaison with engineering, purchasing, production, and other teams to ensure design work meets requirements.
Monitor individual design/drafting hours with respect to overall objectives.
Performs other related duties as appropriate to this level.
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Normally secondary school or technical school graduation plus 2-3 years practical drafting experience. A Technologist Diploma (3 years) in Mechanical or Electrical would be considered.
Knowledge: Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, CSA & ANSI drawing standards
Skills and Competencies
Understanding of PDM and configuration management concepts
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience in use of SolidWorks or other 3D computer aided design tool
Experience with AutoCAD 2D computer aided design tool

Overtime as required
Training Required: Must complete all required training and certification as a Nuclear Energy Worker
