Qualifications:
MLA diploma from a college with an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program with certification from CSMLS

or MLPAO. Experience in supervisor or lead hand role in phlebotomy/laboratory setting is preferred. Transportation

of Dangerous Goods (TDG) is an asset.

Duties may include the following:

- Supervisor/lead duties with blood collections and other duties performed by medical lab technicians
- Assist with scheduling duties
- Ordering and monitoring of supplies
- Venous, capillary and special collections including neonatal/pediatric collections, difficult draws
- Prioritize work or create the proper response to Stat, Urgent and Routine requests
- Dispatch samples to the laboratory, TDG training required
- Troubleshooting problems, i.e., specimen rejection, safety reports, etc.
- Training and mentoring staff
- Inventory/supply receipt, storage, maintaining stock, etc.
- Environmental monitoring/recording, i.e., humidity, etc.
- Compliance with quality & safety protocols, i.e., biosafety, biohazardous containment level 2 zone, etc.
- Cleaning and decontamination of work areas
- Any other assigned duties

Salary Range: $32.59 to 37.26
