We’re on the hunt for a **Capture Manager** to join our New Business team at our Brampton or Kanata office.

Robotics & Space Operations: With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true. As our **Capture Manager, **you will be responsible for capturing new business for the Robotics & Space Operations group.

**The Position**:
MDA is currently seeking a Capture Manager to be responsible for winning new space robotics missions and systems opportunities, with a focus on Canadian and international government customers. Specific pursuits will include a variety of topics, including space robotic manipulators, rovers, mission operations, and science instruments. This individual will perform a wide range of activities, including taking responsibility for developing pursuit strategies, developing and managing a pipeline of opportunities, and leading proposal preparation efforts for government customers and industry partners.

**Responsibilities**:
Specific responsibilities will include:

- Assisting in growing company revenue by identifying and developing new business opportunities/growth areas
- Developing and maintaining high-quality relationships with customers and partners
- Developing opportunity pipelines of scale sufficient to achieve current and future year growth objectives
- Forecasting staffing needs for upcoming pursuits
- Tracking opportunities in Salesforce and communicating the status of opportunities to the team
- Understanding the competitive landscape and our customers’ needs and objectives, with the ability to speak to MDA’s differentiation
- Working with Product Management team to prioritize products and features
- Coordinating New Business Team contract-related documents (non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, etc.) with the Contracts Manager
- Representing the customer’s requirements and perspectives as input to specific pursuit strategies
- Developing capture strategies and proposal win themes, identifying customer issues, and highlighting MDA discriminators as guidance to the proposal team
- Identifying and qualifying potential team members for opportunities to prime and other contractors for opportunities to subcontract
- Developing price to win and proposal cost strategies
- Leading discussions with the customer after proposal submission
- Representing MDA at business meetings, industry events, and conferences, requiring travel in many cases

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant field, ideally exposed to Space Robotics
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent; MBA considered to be an asset
- Knowledge and experience managing the federal sales lifecycle and demonstrated experience developing and managing a pipeline
- Knowledge of and experience using Shipley (BD/Capture Lifecycle) Methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with current and potential customers and partners. Must be a team player, detail oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to work well with others.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to brief senior leadership, prospective customers, and partners and communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and general financial acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Salesforce considered to be an asset

** Business travel is a requirement to successfully fulfill this role, on the order of 1-2 short trips per month and 1-2 longer trips per year.
