**Director of Quality, Education, and Practice Excellence - Long-Term Care (LTC) and Assisted Living (AL)**
**About the Role**: Within the context of a client and family-centred model of care, and in alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Providence Health Care (PHC), the Director of Quality, Education, and Practice Excellence for Long-term Care (LTC) and Assisted Living (AL) plays a crucial role in promoting a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for residents (patients/clients), families, visitors, and staff.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- ** Strategic Planning & Leadership**:
- Plan, develop, implement, evaluate, and continuously monitor strategic initiatives aimed at achieving clinical and professional growth.
- Optimize professional practice priorities, advance practice, and foster quality practice environments while ensuring sustainability of program initiatives.
- ** Nursing Practice Excellence**:
- Advance LTC and AL nursing practice and promote excellence for care staff (regulated and unregulated).
- ** Program Oversight**:
- Provide Director-level oversight of key program initiatives, including the **Home for Us** model of care transformation and educational events.
- ** Collaboration and Input**:
- Collaborate with the Professional Practice team to provide input on scope of practice, skill mix, and care delivery approaches.
- Contribute to policies, procedures, practice guidelines, education programming, and new projects (e.g., pilot models of care households, new buildings, and programs).
- ** Quality and Safety Initiatives**:
- Direct quality and safety initiatives, identify key performance metrics, and monitor outcomes to ensure program effectiveness.
- Communicate progress to the Senior Leadership team and external parties (e.g., Health Authorities).
What You Bring:
**Education, Training, and Experience**:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or a Health Sciences discipline.
- A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of recent, related experience in a healthcare organization, with a focus on supporting the implementation of resident/patient quality improvement initiatives and/or projects in a complex environment.
- Experience in seniors care and/or palliative care is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
**Skills and Abilities**
- Knowledge and understanding of process improvement implementation in a clinical environment.
- Demonstrated systems thinking with the ability to see beyond specific issues and connect ideas and opportunities at an organizational level.
- Demonstrated ability to work within complex and evolving systems with mínimal guidance and precedence.
- Demonstrated excellent judgement, consultative, coordination skills and creativity to ensure implementation of the social-relational model is successful and reflective of best practices and organizational priorities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with ability to identify root causes and effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge inefficient/ineffective processes and to offer constructive alternatives.
- Demonstrated collaborative decision-making skills with the ability to seek out and integrate diverse points of view.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use communication skills in the support of successful change management and knowledge dissemination/translation activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and within uncertainty to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively within and across organizational units using consensus building, consultation and negotiation to achieve common goals.
- Demonstrated resident/client focus including ability to focus efforts on discovering and meeting clients’ needs and aspirations.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
