**The Program**
WJS Canada, a national social services agency, works with government ministries, community and social organizations in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario through over 90 contracts. Together, we provide community-based services to children and families, persons with developmental disabilities, at-risk youth and young offenders, designed to foster positive life changes, increase self-esteem and confidence. **In Your Role You Will**
Be actively involved in a number of areas within WJS Canada, which include:
IT Strategy & Leadership
- Developing and executing an IT strategy that aligns with the organization’s vision and goals
- Driving the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices to continuously improve IT systems, operations and service offerings.
Infrastructure Management & End-User Support
- Overseeing all technological information management systems relative to business processes, including but not limited to Microsoft 365/SharePoint, contract management, client information systems and data visualization software.
- Ensuring the delivery of excellent technical support to staff across multiple regions.
Vendor Management
- Managing relationships with external vendors and third-party service providers.
- Purchasing efficient and cost-effective technological equipment/software. Negotiating contracts with service providers.
Project Management
- Leading cross-functional IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet organizational goals.
- Prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring mínimal disruption to daily operations.
Other
- Representing the agency at conferences, meetings, functions as appropriate.
- Fostering positive relationships within internal and external communities/vendors; promoting the agency to local and provincial stakeholders.
- Other duties as required.
**The Position**
The Director of Information Technology’s role is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all information systems, including the overall technology strategy and IT operations. This position is hands-on and requires collaborating with teams to achieve the strategic goals of the organization, drive technological advancement, eliminate security risks and increase stakeholder satisfaction. The Director of Information Technology works collaboratively with senior leaders across provinces to ensure the optimal technology solutions are in place to improve productivity, security, and service delivery and to prepare the organization for future. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Preference for applicants to reside within the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, or Edmonton, Alberta. Hybrid position will be based out of the company's Regional Office in Maple Ridge, BC or Edmonton, Alberta, dependent on which location they reside in proximity to, working a combination from that office and their home-based office.

- A Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field is required.
- Other equivalent combinations of training, education, and experience may be considered.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in IT management or similar role with a proven track record of leading successful IT projects.
- Experience with cloud platforms particularly Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 and SaaS based solutions.
- Knowledge of and working experience with Tableau is an asset.
- Strong understanding of cyber security best practices, risk management and compliance requirements.
