**Job Description - Business Development**

Victoria Lifeline has been helping people lead safe and independent lives for over 35 years. Our range of medical alert services provide clients with access to help at home or on the go. Victoria Lifeline plays an important role in the transition from hospital to home for both older adults and people living with chronic health conditions.

**Description**:
As a business development manager, you will play a pivotal role in growing Victoria Lifeline in Manitoba. You will identify opportunities, then develop and implement strategies that create valuable long-term relationships with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders who engage with our target markets. The Business Development role reports to the Director, Marketing and Development, and is a key member of the Victoria Lifeline Leadership Team.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Identify new business opportunities, new product ideas/programs and lead implementation within the organization
- Identify and develop new and existing referral sources to build successful referring relationships and references
- Provide group presentations to healthcare professionals on how Victoria Lifeline can support their at-risk patients
- Provide ongoing education/marketing support to Partner Programs and Board members as required
- Responsible for negotiating and securing new partnerships and senior living contracts, and ensuring partnership obligations are met
- Acquire and maintain extensive knowledge of market conditions
- Participate in various external and internal networks to maintain an excellent awareness of the program across Manitoba and provide presentations to business and community organizations
- Participate in the development and implementation of an annual marketing plan, which provides clear strategic direction towards subscriber growth in Manitoba
- Define and achieve development goals and budgets
- Maintain relationships with subscribers to educate and activate new subscribers as well as enhance retention

**Education & Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in Business or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Experienced in building key customer relationships
- Adept at identifying business opportunities

**Assets**:

- Healthcare related sales/marketing background
- Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management System
- Extensive knowledge of community social and health services and the health care system in general, both provincially and locally

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- Strong public speaking and planning skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated strengths in active listening and critical thinking
- Highly proactive and self-directed
- Excellent time management and organization
- Ability to evaluate complex issues and identify resolutions
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Driver’s license and access to vehicle
- Some evening and weekend work related to meetings and special events
- Computer literacy and experience in Microsoft Office 365
