Who Are We?

Pro Merita learning center offers a half day (9:00-12:30) educational program for students in Grade 5 through 12. Operating in partnership with a public distributed (DL) school, we offer the ideal schooling solution for aspiring students. Our goal for over a decade has been to provide the opportunity for motivated students to pursue their dreams, while completing their full academic requirements.

Who are we looking for?
- We are looking for you, a talented teacher/ tutor with experience delivering in person and online classes.
- A passionate teacher who is a strong team player and adopts a customer centered approach.
- You bring a high level of commitment to excellence and integrity to teaching and learning.
- You have a Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn
- Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social, emotional learning difficulties

What will your responsibilities be?
- You will prepare and deliver lessons to students according to the provided BC curriculum and philosophy of the school.
- Teach students using a systematic plan composed of lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and nature.
- Lead students in activities to promote their physical, mental and social development.
- Communicate all lesson plans, student evaluations and progression, with the academic team as well as students and their parents.
- Adapting and modifying curriculum to meet the needs of students

Skills and Qualifications required
- Minimum of one year working in a blended learning atmosphere
- Strong digital literacy skills
- University degree / BC teaching certificate & Bachelor of education are additional assets
- Experience with students Grades 5-12 in a teaching/tutoring environment
- Superb written and oral communication skills
- Dynamic, energetic and outgoing personality
- Highly organized and able to multitask
- Passion for teaching
- Exceptional classroom management skills/strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
