**EARLY CHILDHOOD ASSISTANT POSITION (IN TODDLER)**
We are looking for one full-time Early Childhood Assistant in either our Toddler classroom.
Start date is flexible, but would ideally begin end of December for training and work.
**PAY**
- _Base pay amount will be dependent on the applicant's years of experience._
- additional top-up on base pay - up to $2.00 per hour Provincial Wage Enhancement by the Ontario Government _(exact amount based on role and # of hours worked)_
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Certified in Standard First Aid & CPR/AED (Level C)
- Have a clear police reference check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Current Immunization Record & Health Check
- **Minimum 1 year experience working within a child care classroom (eg. Toddler and/or Preschool classroom)**
**RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING)**
- Assists Early Childhood Educator (ECE) in providing a high-quality program in the classroom.
- Follows and implements school and ministry of education policies, behavioural practices, curriculum and procedures.
- Provides a clean, safe and supportive environment for the children and staff members.
- Assists ECE in planning, preparing and implementing the learning environment, setting up, and preparing materials.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, children and families.
- Implements communication and documentation responsibilities (e.g. daily log, paperwork, updates through the app, activities etc).
- Punctual and consistent with attendance.
- Renews and maintains personal requirements documentation for the position (e.g. first aid certification).

The Laurel School is a boutique early learning private school & child care located in North York, ON, that offers programs for Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten and Grades 1-3. Our mission is to build a strong foundation for each child with an enriched curriculum in a loving & nurturing environment. Our smaller class sizes create a flexible, responsive learning environment that allows the teacher to address the individual needs of each student.
