IO’s Project Delivery Enterprise Team delivers some of the province’s largest and most important public infrastructure projects, including new hospitals, highways, transit systems, and courthouses. Our made-in-Ontario approach to modern project delivery has brought over 100 major projects to market and has made Ontario a global leader in infrastructure development by delivering new projects on time and on budget while meeting high standards for design, quality, and health and safety.
The role is responsible for management and implementation of assigned projects. This includes the delivery of New Capital Projects ($50M+) as assigned. These projects will include the day-to-day management of projects, coordination with Ministry clients, and the internal coordination with other IO divisions in support of the implementation of the project. The role will be required to continually engage and build relationships with Ministry stakeholders and external project partners, providing the forum for open, safe and collaborative workplace environment.
To be successful in this role, the incumbent brings sound stakeholder management skills, the ability to adapt quickly and respond to a changing environment, and experience finding positive solutions to issues with clients and diverse teams of project consultants and specialists. The ability to coach, mentor and delegate to a team of junior staff would be an asset.
**What You Will Do**:
- Lead, plan and deliver the end-to-end delivery of assigned ICI project(s) in accordance with approved scope, budget and schedule, following Stipulated Sum and Construction Management Methodologies ($50M+).
- Lead and manage the production of all project deliverables, for scope, schedule and budget, including design documentation, construction documents, schedules, budgeting and compliance with applicable standards and municipal and provincial authorities’ regulations.
- Lead and manage the project administration processes for external consultant(s), contractors, and specialty vendors. This includes financial management of contracts, negotiations, dispute resolution, and/or interpretation and terms of agreement(s) on behalf of the organization.
- Facilitate and build effective relationships and timely communication between Infrastructure Ontario, client(s), consultant(s), Project Management team(s) contractor(s), Equipment Vendor(s) and Specialty Vendor(s) to create positive relationships.
- Develop and proactively identify project risks and establish mitigation measures in coordination with internal, external project team members and Ministry(s) creating positive outcomes.
- Manage the procurement of external consultant(s), contractor(s), and any specialty vendor(s) to support delivery of assigned projects.
- Act as the Infrastructure Ontario representative for internal and external committee(s) and meeting(s) related to project activities and prepare and deliver presentations for a variety of stakeholders to support project delivery.
- Participate with the Direct Delivery team in the continual improvement process updating tools, processes and methodologies.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external vendors for Due Diligence studies, including environmental assessment, air quality testing, transportation design, accessibility, hazardous materials and/or sustainability as required to execute assigned project(s).
**What We’re Looking For**:
- Substantial experience in a Project Management related role, directly leading the end-to-end delivery of ICI projects ($50M+) through all stages of predesign, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout.
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline e.g. Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, and/or Project Finance, where project management forms part of the curriculum.
- PMP certification would be an asset.
- Experience managing and implementing Stipulated Sum and Construction Management methodologies is required.
- Experience developing, administering, monitoring and tracking various contract types and legislation such as; CCDC-2, CCDC- 5B, CCDC-14, OAA Document 600 and the Construction Act.
- Demonstrated experience effectively communicating and building relationships with client(s), internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, building codes, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations related to the design and construction industry.
- Experience resolving technical design, construction, legal, budget, scope and schedule issues with the capacity to proactively manage risk and facilitate positive solutions with a diverse group of public and private sector stakeholders.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite and Project Management software.
