**OVERVIEW**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Supervising and coordinating activities, training, and completing reporting requirements of the CJWs and FNCWs in collaboration with their assigned First Nations and provincial circuit court locations.
- Participate and have active involvement in the administration of community justice services, crime prevention, First Nation restorative justice practices, mediation, and policy development and provide advocacy in areas of policing, public complaints, corrections, etc.
- Developing and implementing First Nation Justice programming to meet the needs of individuals, youth and adults, in contact with the criminal justice system
- Additional duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- An undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field (Indigenous studies, Criminal Justice, Law, etc.)
- Experience working in the justice or legal field such as probation services, First Nation restorative justice, court services and public administration with demonstrated experience leading effective justice programs
- Experience in program management along with developing and implementing a strategic plan and achieving program vision and goals
- Strong professional writing skills with ability to prepare briefing notes, reports and proposals
- Experience in leading, managing and supporting employees in their roles to ensure individual and team success
- Experience in providing culturally appropriate advocacy, education and awareness concerning ongoing and emerging justice issues
- Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation and policies related to criminal justice
- Experience in negotiating and communicating with senior level government officials and management
- Excellent verbal communication skills with demonstrated political and business acumen and the ability to build relationships and network with SCO-member First Nations, Indigenous organizations, provincial and federal governments, and other key stakeholders
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to meet reporting deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to speak Dakota or Anishinaabemowin language is considered an asset

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search prior to start of employment if selected
- A valid class 5 MB driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle for business travel
