We are currently looking for an experienced Traffic Control Person and Lane Closure Technician to join our diverse team and play a vital role in maintaining safety and efficiency on roadways across Nanaimo. As TCP or LCT you will have the opportunity to contribute of creating safer environment for our workers and the community.
- **To Qualify**:_
- You must have an BCCSA approved Traffic Control Person certification / TCP Ticket
- A minimum of 1 year of Flagging or LCT experience
- BC Class 5 License and clean driver’s abstract _(For LCT position)_
- Ability to effectively communicate with drivers and operators
- Motivated to keep traffic smooth and pedestrians safe
- General construction site and flagging knowledge
- Personal transportation to commute to site
- **What is expected from you?**_
- Directing drivers, pedestrians, and workers to safe routes around road construction sites
- Assist in accessing and exiting work sites and reporting to questions
- Assist with set up and maintenance of project signage and barricades including daily barricade reports
- Protect workers by keeping work space free of traffic and warning them of approaching hazards
- Setting up and providing traffic control specifications
- Reviewing traffic management plans
- Training other site workers about traffic and equipment safety
- Performing other related duties as required

**Salary**:
- **Traffic Control Person: $21.00 to $28.00 per hour** _(including 9.2% vacation pay, statutory pay and benefits) *Salary will be determine based on experience during the in-person interview*_
- **Lane Closure Technician: $26.00 to 34.00 per hour** _(including 9.2% vacation pay, statutory pay and benefits) *Salary will be determine based on experience during the in-person interview*_
