Under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager, the successful applicant will become part of a maintenance team and will be responsible for coaching, leading, and developing the electrical and mechanical team and providing direction to ensure the factory is maintained in a safe and reliable manner.

**The Role**:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to ensure the safe execution of all maintenance and repairs for the Processing Department. The Maintenance Supervisor oversees all facets of maintenance to ensure maximum operational potential is realized for the entire factory operation, with a minimum of expense and downtime. In large part this is accomplished through preventative maintenance and immediate repairs of failed equipment. Additionally, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to ensure that all buildings, grounds, and industrial vehicles are appropriately maintained.

- Proactive involvement in maintaining safety rules, employee safety education, and improving safety awareness throughout the facility.
- Ensures that all maintenance activities are timely and completed in accordance with established Quality and Food Safety standards and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining, coordinating, and managing the equipment associated with production processes and the facilities.
- Ensure all facility maintenance is properly executed, and the facility requirements are met. Ability to troubleshoot and investigate production/maintenance problems.
- Oversee all equipment repair and installation activities.
- Support the continuous development and implementation of Preventative Maintenance Schedules.
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers and coordinate work when required.
- Monitor both internal and external premises for safety and food safety issues and bring forth recommendations to ensure that employee and food safety is maintained as a priority.
- Ensures all documentation and checks are being completed with Maintenance in adherence to standard work checklist.
- Assigns, trains, directs, and appraises personnel. Completes related documentation and records as required. Overall responsibility for the maintenance Training Program.
- Provides leadership to the maintenance team to support the successful day-to-day operation. Motivates diverse workforce towards continuous improvement in safety, quality, production, and maintenance goals.
- Completes labour scheduling of the Maintenance Departments and works with the Manufacturing Manager and Continuous Improvement Manager to identify opportunities for improvement in labour coverage and costs.
- Supports the development and execution of the plant maintenance budgets, including accountable to the achievement of budgets. Research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality and safety.
- Participates as management member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee representing the Maintenance Department

**FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Participate in Training as needed
- Follow GMP Practices
- Participate in Monthly food safety meetings and support the HACCP program

**SKILLS REQUIRED (INCLUDE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PROFICIENCY)**:

- A bachelor degree in a related field (preferred) or a Journeymen Industrial license with 5 to 10 years of supervisory and training experience in a processing plant or an equivalent combination of experience and qualifications
- Solid understanding of proactive maintenance systems as well as continuous improvement strategies included in the lean manufacturing model
- Demonstrated skills in time management and managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to interpret industrial drawings as well as budget estimations for projects
- Results-oriented, team player with excellent supervisory and communication skills, as well as strong problem solving abilities
- Strong computer skills would be an asset

Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
