RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organizational
- Performs other duties as assigned in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of National Service Dogs
- Operates within the culture and core values of the organization

Client Services
- Responsible for interviewing new applicants across all programs
- Support onboarded clients ongoing, as per ADI standards
- Arrange and assist with graduate follow ups and recertification testing
- Facilitate school placements, including preliminary work with schools and school boards
- Maintain graduate files and send out graduate evaluations and annual questionnaires, ensuring all Assistance Dogs International (ADI) requirements are being met
- Ensure that all necessary information is forwarded to clients, kept current and up to date in the appropriate files
- Organize and Lead Team Trainings for new dog/client teams
- Organize and run new client seminars

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES:

- Degree in psychology, social work, or relevant health or social science field - BSW or MSW preferred
- Registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and Ontario Association of Social Workers
- Required Vulnerable Sector Police check
- 3+ years working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities/autism, mental health, PTSD and/or trauma related issues
- Well-developed intake, referral, crisis assessment, intervention and brief support skills
- Strong Interview and assessment skills in a mental health and/or developmental services related field
- Knowledge of a broad range of mental health, addiction and concurrent issues
- Knowledge of mental health and addiction supports and resources
- Suicide intervention, mental health first aid and first aid training an asset
- Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment and also independently
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Good computer skills with knowledge of Google Suite, MS Office programs
- Pleasant telephone manner and strong communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A valid driver’s license, insurable and qualify to rent a car
- Ability to travel locally and within Canada
- Previous dog handling experience an asset
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Reliable
