About the role
Join us as a Project Metallurgist and take the lead in managing complex projects, from bid preparation to client interactions. Your expertise will drive data analysis, guide testing programs, and ensure meticulous technical reporting. Elevate your career and make a lasting impact in metallurgy with us
- Manage projects, which includes; bid preparation for complex projects; review Junior Metallurgist bid preparations; direct client interaction and communication and complete metallurgical balances and communicate data to the clients
- Analyze data and determine direction of the testing program based upon the results
- Upon completion of the test program, analyze and present the data in a format suitable for using in the project final report
- Write final technical reports for projects under management and projects managed by others if needed using standardized formats
- Conducting, supervising and reporting bench scale and pilot plant test work for complex metallurgist projects
- Direct, supervise, and, when necessary, conduct test work in laboratory
- Liaising with senior project members regarding ongoing test programmes
- Providing a mentoring role for Junior Metallurgists
- Represent ALS Metallurgy at trade shows, conferences, mining shows, etc. as required; these events may occur outside regular office hours
- Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality
- Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
**About you**:
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability
- Intermediate communication and technical report writing skills
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Organized and detail-oriented individual
- Highly motivated, strong sense of responsibility and excellent work ethic
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proven troubleshooting and technical support skills
- Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time critical issues
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
**Required Qualifications**:
- Demonstrated Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical or Mineral Processing degree (or equivalent) Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical or Mineral Processing degree (or equivalent) required
- 2 to 4 years of laboratory and operations experience in process plants and test work services
- P.Eng. required
**Physical Demands**:
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks
- Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required
- Ability to lift filled 20 litre containers (45 lb)
- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities

- Annual salary ranging from $75,000.00 - 95,000.00, negotiable on experience.
