Responsibilities:

- Opens the kitchen in the morning
- Complete tasks assigned by the Kitchen Coordinator.
- Responsible for cooking breakfasts, completing meal preparation and baking.
- Maintain sanitary practices.
- Maintain safety while using appliances.
- Operate and clean dish washing area.
- Engage and support volunteers working in the kitchen and café.
- Maintain a clean and pleasant working environment.
- Comply will all municipal, provincial and federal rules and regulations for the safe handling and serving of food.
- Minimize food waste.
- Relief staff for kitchen when the coordinator is away.
- Support special events as required.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment
- Minimum 2 years related experience cooking and baking.
- Provincial Food Handling Certification
- Experience with commercial food service equipment. Communication and teamwork abilities
- Reliable, dependable and willing to learn and adapt to different ways of completing tasks.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Edmonton, AB T6C 2X8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 2 years (required)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)

Work Location: In person
