We are hiring an **EHS Specialist** to join our team at FreshPoint FreshCuts.

This boots on the ground role will be responsible for supporting FreshPoint’s operations to drive a best-in-class safety culture. This includes coordinating and conducting EHS-related training, supporting the Regional EHS Manager to drive EHS policies, programs and SOPs and ensure compliance with relevant provincial and federal safety regulations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide EHS support at assigned sites and in close collaboration with the Regional EHS Manager.
- Drive Safety-related policies and SOPs to align with corporate practices and programs.
- Conduct EHS training to new and existing Operations and Transportation colleagues. This includes but is not limited to MHE training on a one-on-one or group training session.
- Accurate administration and maintenance of EHS training documents and records.
- Track, maintain and follow up on EHS-related certifications.
- Conduct safety coaching and ride along with the transportation department.
- Conduct Safety walkthroughs and inspections in the warehouse.
- Update and maintain EHS logs, including occupational-related and auto-liability.
- Complete safety data sheets and inventory reconciliation with products in the warehouse.
- Assist with corrective action plan management including drafting, implementing and follow up on action plans as required.
- Support incident investigation process with tact and privacy.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Operations, Food Safety and Human Resources.
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Is willing to work safely with mínimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
- Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Job Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education with major course work in EHS, risk management, or equivalent field required.
- 3+ years experience in a warehouse, supply chain, transportation or related role preferred.
- Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal EHS and WCB requirements and industry standards/best practices.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Work experience within a healthy and safety administration or coordination capacity, or equivalent role considered an asset.
- OFA2 or capability to obtain certification is an asset.
- MHE/PIE Trainer Certification preferred.

**Location**: 1020 Malkin Avenue, Vancouver, BC V3C 6H8

**Work Schedule**:

- Core working hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm.
- May be required to work outside of the core working hours from time to time.
