Join us as Operation Analyst, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Kingston (ON), CA.

This position is required to simulate the operation of transit systems to forecast the system performance. Such performance characteristics as travel times, headway, dwell, passenger allowances, and fleet size are to be simulated using simulation tools developed for this purpose. The Ops Analyst will be required to understand and clarify client specifications, define and receive simulation input requirements and clearly describe complex train operations in reports.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Review and understand client requirements and prepare compliance statements against them for bid and project work. Recommend solutions to minimize costs.
- Define input requirements needed from internal and external partners and clients to complete simulations. Train staff on simulation tools.
- Use simulation tools to simulate train operations on various operating scenarios and conditions.
- Prepare reports to clearly describe the simulation outputs. Outputs will be used to size many aspects of the Rolling Stock and wayside subsystems design.
- Validate simulations against real world operation. Meet with customers and partners to propose improvements in requirements and design.

**REQUIRED PROFILE**:
Education
- Bachelor or Master in Engineering

Relevant experience required
- Experience with transit system design and implementation with focus on train operations planning.
- In depth understanding of the principles of vehicle dynamics, train performance, operations and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare concise analysis reports based on system simulations.
- Analytical thinker and able to explain the results of complex system simulations.
- Self-starter and able to work independently, but to work within a team to feed it with critical data.
- Able to justify work when the results are challenged by peers and clients.
- Proper planning and organizing are necessary to meet bid budgets, schedules, and target system costs.
- A solid foundation in engineering design principles

Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required by the position/role
- Knowledge of performing opertaion analysis, heaway, fleet size, Round trip time, technology selection, failure management
