**About Concrete BC**
Formed in 1962, the Concrete Association of BC is a Non-Profit Organization that represents the Ready Mix Concrete Industry in British Columbia. Concrete BC is a provincial organization that is part of national and international industrial community focused on providing best practice knowledge, certification and quality standards. Specifically, the organization’s objectives are:
- Providing training and education to promote and enforce industry quality standards.
- Creating industry recognized certification standards for manufacturing processes.
- Presenting industry view to government, both proactively and in response to government proposals to assist in mitigating potential negative impacts and promote benefits for both industry and government.
- Informing the public about market trends, regulations and programs that will affect the concrete business and help to prepare for change and to create new business opportunities.
- Expand the market for ready-mixed concrete in British Columbia, and position concrete in the minds of consumers, government and contractors as the best building material for sustainable construction.
Concrete BC currently represents 57 Ready Mix Concrete and Volumetric Producers operating more than 120 plants with a fleet of >1150 trucks at over 110 locations across the province; as well as over 90 supplier members to the industry.
**About the Role**
Concrete BC is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Member Services Executive/Manager. This key role reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for providing member services and administrative support.
While Concrete BC’s office is located in downtown Vancouver, we support a hybrid workplace model and standard business hours 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. However, Industry events and meetings sometimes occur outside of business hours and on weekends.
**Responsibilities**:
- Engaging with members and learning about their needs and wants.
- Facilitate member’s access to member-specific resources and programs.
- Provide support on membership service issues.
- Facilitate public use of and access to the Association’s resources.
- Maintain membership information software/ database.
- Administer changes to public and member related content on Concrete BC’s website.
- Invoice members for dues and other services.
- Maintain Concrete BC’s Plant and Volumetric Certification database and process documentation as required.
- Administer Online and In Person Education and Training programs on concrete.
- Assist in organizing Concrete BC’s annual Conventions and Annual General Meetings.
- Attend industry events, conferences, meetings and committees from time to time.
- Assist the Executive Director with general operational and administrative support.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, codes, and standards related to concrete.
- Contribute to the implementation of Concrete BC's strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Some knowledge or background in construction and/or concrete materials beneficial.
- Experience with a Membership-based Association or Non-profit organization preferred.
- Experience with Growth Zone Membership software is a plus.
- Experience using standard Microsoft Office Suite/Quickbooks/Mailchimp/etc.
- Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to engage with broad base of people on a variety of issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a teams/committees.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to occasional travel to events.
