Family Wellness Centre Coordinator

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**
The Family Wellness Centre Coordinatorwill provide leadership, strategic direction and day to day management of the Family Wellness Centre and its programs. The Family Wellness Centre provides support and services for children, youth and families; utilizing the Framework for Healing and Wellness.
The Family Wellness Centre Coordinator in collaboration with partnering agencies, and funders, will facilitate individual, group, family and community wellness by providing culturally enriched programs. The Family Wellness Centre Coordinator will use a wholistic approach to encourage wellness that encompasses the physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social/recreational needs of children, youth and their families. The Family Wellness Centre Coordinator is an administrative position directly responsible to the Executive Director.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure relevant policies and procedures are in place for efficient operations of all Family Wellness Centre program;
- Ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and efficient program development and delivery in accordance with the values and mission statement of the Society;
- Monitor policy and procedures, funding requirements and quarterly budgets;
- Ensure programs comply with all funding requirements, outcome measures, and evaluation processes as required;
- Provide Indigenous cultural guidance, support and direction including facilitating culturally enriched programs and services;
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with Elders;
- Make appropriate recommendations utilizing Elders and community-based resources;
- Provide supportive counseling and guidance to children, youth and their families;
- Lead, train, supervise, monitor, support, manage, coach, and evaluate staff of the following program and positions: Family Wellness Centre Team Lead; Child, Youth & Family Wellness workers; Youth Mentorship Workers, Family Violence Prevention workers and DCRT worker.
- Participate in work-related inter-agency meetings, team building, committees, professional development courses and other job-related activities as required/directed;
- Develop and maintain effective, professional and cordial relationships at all levels within the organization and the community at large;
- Ensure continuous growth and professional development through education, conferences, and relevant workshops;
- Conduct monthly staff and team meetings;
- Ensure all applicable licenses and renewals are completed in accordance with regulations;
- Support the development and implementation of the Family Resource Network Standards of Practice;
- Support the development and implementation of Performance Measurement and continuous improvement process;
- Develop, implement and oversea marketing and social media platform that brings heightened awareness to our programs at Awo Taan Healing Lodge Society;
- Submit monthly reports and statistics in each program area;
- Develop proposals for funding;
- Participate in budget preparations in consultation with Executive Director and Finance Manager;
Other:
- Carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director.
**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field with a minimum of five years experience;
- Proven supervisory skills;
- Knowledge & skills in working with children and families affected by all forms of violence and family stress;
- Understanding & knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions; the ability to speak an Indigenous language would be an asset;
- Knowledge of community resources & programs available to support families;
- Strong communication, counseling & advocacy skills;
- Strong organizational skills & initiative;
- Strong leadership and proven track record with program development & implementation;
- Ability to work independently & as part of a team;
- Competent computer skills & accurate program record maintenance;
- CPR & First Aid training; Police Information Check & Child Welfare Intervention Services Check;
- Knowledge and adherence to Social Work Code of Ethics, the Child & Family Enhancement Act; Person’s In Care Act, and F.O.I.P.
- Valid driver’s license & a reliable vehicle.
