Job Summary

The Cancer Exercise & Physiotherapy Lab (CEPL) is led by principal investigator Dr. Kristin Campbell, and is world-leading research program focused on innovative research that aims to improve how rehabilitation and survivorship care is delivered for people following a cancer diagnosis. We’re looking for a Knowledge Mobilization and Project Coordinator to join our team.

Project Coordination: You will work closely with the PI and Research Manager to drive the deliverables of the projects in the lab, specifically a project on dissemination of knowledge products related to exercise for people living with bone metastases and assist with the collection and interpretation of dissemination outcomes.

Knowledge Mobilization: Together, with our interdisciplinary team, you will plan and craft innovative ways to share what we do, how we do it, and why it is important. You will work at the interface between patient partners, and scientific, clinical and knowledge translation experts to create content and develop strategies that will enhance the uptake of research findings and processes to improve patient care.

Organizational Status

Project Coordination: You will report directly to Dr. Kristin Campbell and the CEPL Research Manager, as well as work closely with research staff and trainees in the CEPL.

Knowledge Mobilization: You will report directly to Dr. Kristin Campbell and Dr. Sarah Neil-Sztramko, who is an implementation scientist and co-PI of the knowledge mobilization project(s). You will also work closely with the postdoctoral fellow supporting the project, as well as research staff and other trainees in the CEPL.

Work Performed

Project Coordination:

- Supporting project administration and coordination; including setting milestones, organizing meetings with patient partners, collaborators and knowledge users, as well as, monitoring project progress, and preparing meeting minutes, status reports, expense forms, and other project documents
- Coordinate implementing projects in alignment with established project goals and objectives
- Supporting the development of project reports, presentations, materials and resource documents
- Providing on-going support and builds rapport with partners and collaborators
- Acting as the point of contact with project collaborators, knowledge users, and patient partners.

Knowledge Mobilization:

- Supporting aspects of knowledge synthesis (literature and scoping reviews).
- Co-developing Terms of Reference with patient partner committees and groups.
- Supporting quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and reporting of knowledge translation outcomes for scientific reporting (i.e., assist with conducting qualitative interviews, quantitative data analysis and drafting manuscripts)
- Engaging knowledge users throughout the life cycle of projects and initiatives to identify knowledge needs and gaps, develop and implement plans in response, and iteratively improve tools and resources based on feedback
- Developing and delivering creative knowledge mobilization products, tools and resources through a collaborative and iterative process. Includes general public, patient and healthcare provider-facing materials and resources, evidence-based reports, reports for funders, government and policy makers, training and educational materials, presentations and webinars and videos
- Developing an in-depth understanding and interconnectedness of the team’s work, positioning and strategic objectives
- Collaborating with the project team to implement knowledge mobilization initiatives using various platforms: social media, print, digital print, video, ebulletin, workshops, and others
- Maintaining up to date internal database of project activities and contact details of stakeholder groups for knowledge mobilization and communication
- Maintaining regular communication and supports information and knowledge sharing with project partners, collaborators and knowledge users
- Supporting Communities of Practices for internal and external partners, collaborators and knowledge users
