**The role would require you to be in the office in person: 2 days/per week (Saturday and Sunday).**

**This position is a contract period until Nov 21st, 2025, with a possibility for extension.**

For over thirty years, Moyo (previously known as Peel HIV/AIDS Network) has provided a growing array of health promotion, education, social and support services for people living with, affected by, and at systemic risk of HIV. Through collaborative efforts and effective service delivery, Moyo has become the leading HIV/AIDS service provider for Peel’s communities of Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon.

As part of the comprehensive range of harm reduction programs offered by Moyo HCS, The Peel Urgent Public Health Needs Site (UPHNS) is a low-threshold, health care service where people can use pre-obtained drugs in a hygienic environment under the supervision of trained staff and receive basic health care, harm reduction teaching and counseling as well as referrals to internal and external health and social services.

Striving for excellence in client-centred care and education, you’ll work as part of the multidisciplinary, integrated UPHNS staff team, within a trauma informed, harm-reduction framework, and in alignment with the vision and values of Moyo HCS. In so doing, you’ll help ensure that UPHNS operations comply with all exemption requirements and guidelines, as well as Moyo policies and procedures.

Staff at the Peel UPHNS provide support to people who use drugs, some of whom are street involved, often dealing with the complexities of substance use, lack of affordable housing, mental health issues, and challenges navigating complex systems.

Reporting to the UPHNS Manager, and working with WellFort Clinical staff, the UPHNS Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

- Working with the Manager to oversee the day-to-day onsite operations of the UPHNS.
- Providing direct supervision and support for all Moyo UPHNS staff, peers, volunteers, and students.
- Working with WellFort Clinical supervisor/manager to ensure our respective teams work cooperatively and effectively together and to share relevant information as necessary.
- Ensuring that the UPHNS is in compliance with all exemption and funding requirements.
- Working with staff to ensure that all policies and procedures are being adhered to.
- Ensuring that all reporting is accurate and up to date.
- Working with site Manager to ensure staff scheduling and coverage.
- Acting as a co-contact point with the Manager for Police, security, and other community concerns.
- Working with and reporting back to Moyo leadership team.
- Working with team to de-escalate conflict.
- Updating and working with relevant stakeholders.
- Working with staff and service users to evaluate and improve services.
- Supporting the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff, peers, and volunteers.
- Identifying and responding to burn-out and other challenges experienced by UPHNS staff.
- Liaising with external service providers who are providing services on and off-site to ensure strong referral pathways.
- Helping with funding proposals, report writing and research as necessary
- Fill in for other positions when required
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Post secondary education in health, social services, or related discipline.
- Proven relevant experience in supervision/management and leadership in a health or social services or related environment.
- Relevant experience with program design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Experience working specifically in a supervised consumption setting is an asset.
- Proven experience with overdose response and training in/experience with oxygen and Naloxone administration.
- Experience and knowledge of drug use, specifically injection drug use.
- Volunteer or work experience with a harm reduction program.
- Experience utilizing harm reduction principles and strategies.
- Experience providing peer-to-peer support.
- Demonstrated ability to de-escalate conflict.
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary team.
- Experience working with community stakeholders and leading meetings.
- Confidence in asserting oneself and maintaining strong boundaries.
- Knowledge of community services and resources; strong advocacy skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills including report writing and presenting/public speaking.
- Ability to listen actively and accurately.
- Demonstrated respect for diversity, equity, anti-racism, and accessibility with the ability to work collaboratively and positively with others.
