Summary*
Under the guidance of the **Liquor Store Manager**, the **Liquor Store Clerk** is responsible for providing prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service to clients and customers at the Curvy Bottle Liquor Store.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Generate sales for the liquor store.
- Serve customers and operate the CLR POS system accurately.
- Maintain a high level of customer service.
- Participate in merchandising and promotional activities such as marquee signs, starbursts, sales tags and stocking all products within the store.
- Accurate creation and processing of liquor transfers to outlets.
- Performing distribution of all liquor purchases, including proper and safe stocking, lifting, sorting, and processing.
- Ensure accuracy in monthly inventory counts and procedures.
- Participate in store maintenance and cleaning, such as vacuuming, cleaning of all counters and shelving, dusting bottles, and cleaning glass.
- Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge.
- Assist in liquor deliveries to internal or external vendors when required.
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanour, and attitude at all times;
- Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.
**Education, Qualification and Requirements**
- Minimum of Grade 12 or GED equivalent preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in retail sales preferred.
- Computer knowledge and skills.
- Strong knowledge of retail sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
- Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Pro-Serve, Pro -Tec, and WHMIS certified.
- Clear Criminal Record Check upon hiring
- Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
- Must be fluent in English;
- Must be of minimum age to sell alcoholic beverages
- Preference to individuals with a class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract who can be insured under the Red Deer Resort & Casino vehicle insurance plan.
**Work Environment**
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Work environment is heated and air-conditioned, potential to be around dust and varying temperatures throughout the seasons.
- Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 35 pounds regularly.
- While performing the duties of this job, there may be stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, and crouching
**Hours of Work**
- The hours of work for this position will vary depending on operational requirements but will include day, evening, holiday, and weekend shifts.
