**Responsible to**:Board of Directors

**Position Summary**:
The CEO shall be responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors of the Corporation for the leadership, administration, organization and management of its operations, including all of Parkview Meadows, Southview, Gardenview and the apartment units in Brookview and Valleyview. These responsibilities shall be carried out in accordance with the polices established by the Board of Directors and all other statute laws and regulations as may be applicable to the Corporation while maintaining an environment ensuring the care and well-being of its residents and the protection of its assets.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
In accordance with the established policies of the Board of Directors, the CEO will:
Ensure compliance with any and all legislation, regulations and standards that have an impact on the Corporation.

Manage the physical assets of the Corporation responsibly.

Manage the financial assets to ensure against fiscal jeopardy or disruption of operational integrity.

Direct and control all employees including the responsibility for hiring, education, safety, and salary and benefit administration programs.

Establish and maintain organizational systems, structures and practices that ensures accountability of all departments and staff for fulfilling the mission, goals and strategic plan of the Corporation.

Provide leadership to the Board of Directors in the development and management of its duties and responsibilities.

Maintain current knowledge of all procedures, policies, administration practices and the clarification and interpretation of same where necessary.

Negotiate, administrate and interpret all aspects of the collective agreement(s).

Recommend the appointment of the Medical Director to be appointed by the Board of Directors.

Act as the official representative/spokesperson of the Corporation regarding formal media relations.

Develop, implement and monitor a quality assurance program that ensures that the outcomes of organizational activities are meeting the needs of its residents.

Develop, implement and monitor a risk management program that protects the Corporation against liability in the areas of financial, legal and public relations.

Serve as the resource person to other internal corporate entities as may be directed by the Board of Directors.

Build external relationships with community leaders and participate in the planning of services for seniors.

**Qualifications Required**:
University degree in Health Care, Social Services and/or accounting designation with extensive management experience in a long term care setting.

Possess excellent interpersonal, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

Demonstrated experience in the areas of leadership, strategy development and community and government relations

Experience in labour relations and financial administration.

Ability to critically appraise and interpret reports, legislation, systems and proposals.

**Qualifications Desired**:
Relevant computer literacy

Fund raising experience

Experience in working with volunteer Board
