Overview:
**Responsibilities**:

- Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck
- Transport and deliver freight over short or long distances
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents, or violations

Position: Truck Driver
- Attends safety meetings if scheduled. Independently follows up on safety meeting notes signing that they have read and understand what was discussed
- Steel toe boots and a high visibility vest are required at all times
- Safety glasses required when outside the machine
- Follows all Salish Soils policies and procedures
- Operates trucks in a safe and appropriate manner to not injure oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment including routine cleaning
- Understands and follows directions from operations manager as to work area
- Maintains the required license to drive a truck
- Drives equipment as requested including, but not limited to, 105, 106, 107, 108, 110, 111
- Fulfills contracts as requested creating efficiencies through back hauls whenever possible which could include (but not limited to)
- Transporting green waste from South Coast Residential Green Waste drop off (Gibsons Green Waste) to Salish Soils
- Transporting garbage from Pender Harbour Transfer Station to Sechelt Landfill
- Transporting metal from Pender Harbour Transfer Station to Salish Soils
- Transporting metal from Sechelt Landfill to Salish Soils
- Transporting metal from Salish Soils to ABC metal recycling
- Transporting biosolids from Gibsons Waste Water Treatment Center to Salish Soils
- Transporting product deliveries to customers along the coast
- Transporting ground wood waste from Salish Soils to Howe Sound Pulp and Paper
- Transporting mulch from Port Melon to Salish Soils

**Experience**:

- Commercial driving experience
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance
- Experience with forklift operation
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation

Join our team as a Truck Driver to contribute to our logistics operations and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining safety standards.

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
