EMPLOYEE RELATIONS COORDINATOR
Exempt Level 6 (Salary $69,834 - $88,679 per annum)
**Position Summary**:
Under the direction of the Manager of Employee Relations, the Employee Relations Coordinator provides guidance and support on employee/labour relations matters as well as interpretation of collective agreements for assigned employee groups.
**Major Responsibilities**:
Work collaboratively with Board stakeholders, including representatives of OECTA York Unit, to establish, build and maintain professional working relationships.
Provide support for OECTA Labour Relations Committee meetings and collective bargaining.
Ensure that Board operations and policies conform to current employment and labour legislation and regulations as well as the terms of all collective agreements.
Implement and maintain employee relations procedures, which facilitate understanding, cooperation and ensure that employee related problems are identified and resolved.
Coordinate the resolution of grievances in a manner that provides fairness and due process as well as assist in the preparation of various reports for mediation and interest arbitration.
Develop, coordinate, implement and maintain various Human Resources related memos, documents, reports, processes and procedures related to employee/labour relations.
Conduct research on employee/labour relations issues to promote continuous improvement and evaluation of the Board’s labour and employee relations processes.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
Advanced College Diploma or University Degree or equivalent with a focus in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations or related discipline.
3 to 4 years of previous work experience in Labour Relations with a specific focus handling arbitrations, grievances and contract administration, preferred
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Experience using SAP.
CHRP will be considered an asset.

Excellent communication skills and problem solving.
Demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting relationships at all levels.
Experience in preparing reports and presentations for multiple stakeholders.
Superb organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail.
