AECOM is seeking a **Director of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)** to lead its national BRT practice. This senior leadership role involves overseeing complex BRT projects across Canada, driving business development efforts, and providing strategic direction to strengthen AECOM’s position as a leader in transit infrastructure.
**Responsibilities**:
- ** Project Delivery**:
- Lead medium to large-scale BRT projects nationally, from concept through construction, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Oversee technical execution, quality control, and engineering design to deliver successful outcomes with mínimal supervision.
- ** Technical Expertise**:
- Ensure project deliverables align with best practices, industry standards, and AECOM’s engineering procedures.
- ** Business Development**:
- Actively grow AECOM’s BRT portfolio by developing and maintaining strong client relationships across Canada.
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities, support marketing and proposal efforts, and lead contract negotiations.
- Represent AECOM at industry events to promote the company’s capabilities and expand its market presence.
- ** Client & Stakeholder Management**:
- Build and sustain strong client relationships by consistently exceeding expectations in project delivery.
- Address client and stakeholder needs, concerns, and feedback to ensure successful project outcomes and satisfaction.
- ** Team Leadership**:
- Manage multidisciplinary teams, including sub-consultants and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure efficient and successful project execution.
- ** Strategic & Operational Oversight**:
- Define and execute the national strategy for the BRT practice, ensuring financial profitability and operational success.
- Collaborate with regional and district leadership to align goals and deliver consistent results across Canada.
- ** Industry Engagement**:
- Represent AECOM at national conferences, through publications, and within the transit community to enhance AECOM’s reputation in BRT.
- Act as a thought leader to promote innovation and best practices in BRT infrastructure and service delivery.
**Qualifications** Minimum Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline, such as Civil Engineering, Sciences, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure or transit projects.
- A minimum of 6 years of specific experience in Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) or similar systems.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience managing teams or projects.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Advanced education or certification in engineering, planning, or project management, with a focus on infrastructure or transit systems.
- Deep expertise in the planning, design, and implementation of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, including innovative project solutions.
- Strong background in managing complex, large-scale transit or infrastructure projects from concept through execution.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee technical deliverables, ensuring quality and adherence to project goals and industry standards.
- Proven experience in budgeting, contract negotiation, and resource management across public and private sectors.
- Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and fostering collaboration.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, including building relationships with community groups and navigating public consultation processes.
- Proficiency in professional project management tools, scheduling software, and other relevant technologies.
- Active participation in transit industry initiatives, contributing to technical advancements or best practices.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
