We are one of the leading Canadian companies for architectural products, office furniture installation and reconfiguration, demountable walls, custom acoustic installations, retail installation, labs, project management, and warehouse and inventory services. McIntyre recently began integrating services with select product lines that address critical facility issues in retail as well as sound attenuation issues in a variety of environments. In partnering with the makers of those lines, McIntyre is breaking new ground as a facility solutions company.
**Job Summary**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide day-to-day technical support, addressing hardware, software, and network issues.
- Diagnose and resolve problems with Windows-based PCs, peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.), and mobile devices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups in Azure Active Directory.
- Enforce security policies and maintain compliance with IT standards through the management of Intune configurations.
- Assist in managing and troubleshooting network devices, including access points, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues (wired and wireless) for end-users and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Enroll, configure, and maintain Windows devices and mobile devices using Microsoft Intune for device management.
- Ensure that all devices are compliant with corporate policies and security standards.
- Work closely with the IT Manager on system upgrades, network enhancements, and other IT projects.
- Provide input and assistance with IT policies, including network security protocols, system usage guidelines, and data management strategies.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of IT assets, including Windows computers, Android devices, and network equipment.
- Provide user support for the Microsoft 365 Suite, including troubleshooting issues.
- Assist with the rollout and deployment of new software and system updates.
- Ensure that security protocols are followed, including antivirus updates, device encryption, and regular system patches.
- Respond to service desk tickets in a timely manner, providing thorough resolution or escalating complex issues as needed.
- Track and document all user interactions, solutions provided, and outstanding issues.
- Support and enforce network security measures, including VPN setup, monitoring, and firewall configurations.
- Conduct periodic audits and respond to any security incidents or breaches.
- The occasional weekend and/or travel may be required due to business need.
**Experience and Skills**
- 1-2 years of experience in an IT support role preferred.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Intune device management.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
- Experience managing and configuring Ubiquiti network devices and Fortinet firewalls is a plus.
- Familiarity with managing and configuring mobile devices.
- Understanding of security best practices, including endpoint security, antivirus management, and patch management.
- Knowledge of help desk ticketing systems and experience with incident management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to diagnosing and resolving IT issues.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and software solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused attitude, with the ability to build rapport with users.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with the IT Manager and other staff to achieve department goals.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent would be an asset.
- Experience assisting in IT projects.
