Position Overview:
Make a difference with industry-leader Finning Reporting to the General Manager, Customer Support, this key leadership role offers great exposure and full accountability for a critical region within Finning’s Canadian operations.
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for effectively planning, scheduling and managing workloads and resources to exceed customers’ expectations for equipment service and maintenance.
**Job Description**:
- Major Job Functions:
- Provide leadership guidance to a team of Customer Service Managers with regards to performance management, coaching and mentoring and supporting growth, development and training opportunities.
- Oversee daily activities of a team of 6-8 direct reports and multiple indirect reports
- Provide quality, timely feedback to individuals through formal and informal conversations to support the performance management process
- Share Employee Engagement Survey (EES) results, solicit feedback, develop and post an action plan on the Action Planning website.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and policies to enhance efficiency, safety, and quality standards.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, supply chain, finance,and human resources, to align operational activities with overall business goals.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards across all operational functions within the region.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and efficiency improvements to drive profitability and operational excellence.
- Manage budgetary responsibilities, including forecasting, budget planning, and expense control, to meet financial targets and objectives.
- Oversee service processes and systems, work order cycle, sales processes, warranty offerings and goodwill practices
- Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Thoroughly understand the operational processes, issues, challenges, best practices, people and customers within the industry
- Experience:
- Previous leadership experience within the heavy equipment service industry or one of Finning Canada’s operational facilities considered an asset
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, or related field is considered an asset
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, with at least 2 years in a regional or multi-site leadership role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees, customers, and senior management.
- Knowledge of industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and quality standards relevant to the operational functions within the region.
- Ability to travel within the region.
- 8 - 10 years of previous supervisory or leadership experience
