**PRODUCTION COACH - 1st Shift**
**Whitby, Ontario (Oshawa Plant)**

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Coach to work in a high-performance self-directed work team environment and partner with our management team to align our Production department initiatives and functions with the objectives of the business. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the plant is meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations by producing the highest quality products in the safest and most efficient and effective manner.

**The Role**:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:

- Planning and scheduling production activities and supervising the production process
- Supervising line employees including counseling and disciplining, when necessary
- Handles quality and safety concerns related to production
- Works with other departments to prevent any probable delay in production and effectively execute the policies and goals of the organization
- Prepares various reports and paperwork
- Ensures compliance with the following legislation: OHSA, WSIB, Human Rights, Employment Standards, and Labour Relations
- Uses and or wears personal protective equipment that the company requires to be used or worn
- Performs any other duties as required in pursuance to the function of this position or as directed
- Works safely, reporting hazards and unsafe conditions, and takes all reasonable measures to protect themselves, co-workers and direct reports
- Recognizing and understanding the requirements of our internal and external customers and is dedicated to establishing the highest industry standards for quality, value, service & technology
- Ensures and understands compliance with harassment within the workplace towards others in the organization

**Your Qualifications**:

- High school diploma
- Supervisory experience, preferably within a unionized environment
- Must have an understanding of lean manufacturing practices and principles and be able to affect change in an operations environment
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a team environment, strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Planning, organization, time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and high attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills

**Bonus If You Have**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field, or experiential equivalency.
