Job Title: Spreader Operator

**Job Summary**:
The Spreader Operator plays a crucial role in our operations, ensuring that spreading machines function optimally and efficiently. Their precision and diligence directly contribute to the smooth running of our production process and the maintenance of our high-quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Supervised asphalt crews performing tasks like raking, smoothing, and tamping hot asphalt materials.

2. Managed winter crews filling potholes and repairing streets using cold patch asphalt.

3. Oversaw equipment operators running machines such as grinders and pavers.

4. Assigned daily work and guided crews on work procedures and techniques.

5. Coordinated asphalt deliveries from plants to work sites.

6. Monitored material supplies and requested additional materials as needed.

7. Documented completed jobs and equipment usage on activity sheets.

8. Informed supervisors of issues at work sites and ensured safety compliance.

9. Facilitated training for new crew members and provided ongoing support and

guidance.

10. Conducted regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.

11. Communicated with clients to address any concerns or questions about the project.

12. Ensured compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
1. At least1 year of experience in asphalt repair and paving, including use of safety equipment and knowledge of OSHA standards.

2. Valid driver's license required for this role.

3. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, and hazardous situations are common in this line of work.

4. Must have physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move rapidly.

5. Familiarity with geographical locations within the City is helpful in this role.

6. Strong skills in active listening, critical thinking, time management, coordination with others, instructing, judgment and decision making, and equipment selection are desired for successful performance in this position.

7. Must be able to comprehend oral and written information and effectively

communicate both verbally and in writing.

8. Attention to detail is crucial for success in this role.

9. Effective leadership skills, cooperative attitude, dependability, excellent

problem-solving abilities, as well as working well with numbers are all important qualities for this job.
