**Role Responsibilities**:
As the Network Analyst, you will report to the Team Lead of the Network Operations team and are expected to provide expertise in routing, switching, and firewalls on Cisco network equipment. The team’s duties are to support the GOA shared data network service.

This position encompasses the entire life cycle of the network service from the development, to installation, to maintenance / operation and finally the decommissioning of the hardware that supports the LAN and WAN networks service. This will provide multiple ministries’ clients with a reliable and cost effective network service. You will assist the senior analyst in both projects and operational activities. The operational activities will include working with a senior analyst in the development of new network solutions to meet changing ministry requirements.

**Responsibilities**:
Your responsibilities will include:

- Resolution of network problems to limit the loss of network services.
- Assistance with network activities to ensure proper implementation.
- Monitoring of network performance, analysis, and resolution of problems.
- The installation and upgrading of network hardware and software. Working with new technologies and products.To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

- Good interpersonal and communications skills (both verbal and written).
- Organizational skills (i.e. prioritization skills and ability to work in a continually changing technical environment).
- A good understanding of network monitoring tools such as Solar Winds and NetScout nGeniusOne.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network related issues quickly.
- A good knowledge of basic and advanced networking principles (TCP, UDP, IP addressing, etc).

- A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- 2 years of related IT networking experience. A valid Class Five Driver’s License.**Equivalencies**: Equivalencies will be considered:
