Location: Dawson Creek

Status: Seasonal employee: 30-35 hours per week

Dates: July 1st - August 23th, 2024

Number of positions available: 2

Reports to: Director of Sport Development and Sport Discovery Coordinator

**About Engage Sport North**

Engage Sport North offers introduction to sport opportunities and physical literacy skill development to children of all ages and abilities through Sport Discovery programming. The Role of the Sport Discovery Leader is to lead the Park Play Days program as well as other sport development events as directed by the Manager of Sport Development.

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**
- Plan, promote and manage the Park Play Days program and other Engage Sport North physical activity projects.
- Liaise with community partners to coordinate all program logistics
- Provide a fun, inclusive environment and encourage all children to participate
- Plan for physical literacy instruction using games and activities
- Provide good customer service to provide a quality experience for participants and caregivers.
- Work cooperatively with participants, caregivers, and supervisors to ensure safety

**Education, Experience and other assets**:

- Experience working with children and youth
- Experience participating in recreation and/or high-performance sports
- Responsible, outgoing, friendly, energetic, self-starter

**Skills**:

- Organizational skills to plan daily activities & implement effectively, while paying attention to detail
- Leadership skills in the coordination and supervision the summer staff team and Volunteer coaches
- Effective verbal and written communication

**Other Attributes**:

- Work proactively with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to think critically and act logically, evaluating situations and generating steps to achieve success

**Requirements**:

- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Applicant must be able to provide a criminal record check for the vulnerable sector
- Valid Driver's License with access to private transportation
- First Aid and CPR training to be completed before July 1st
- Meets the Canada Summer Jobs Employee Criteria

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 35 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
