We design and install custom equipment and accessories for industrial and commercial service vehicles including aluminum slide-in service bodies, Spacekaps, van shelving, flat decks, mobile lube skids, top quality truck caps and canopies.

We are adding a Mechanical Design Technician to our team in **Edmonton, AB**

**Job details**
- Full time - Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Full Benefits after 90 days including Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Design and develop custom solutions: Utilize your engineering expertise to create designs for vehicle modifications and upfits, such as cargo management systems, specialty racks, shelving, and other enhancements based on customer requirements and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with sales and production to understand client needs, gather technical specifications, and ensure that design solutions are feasible and optimized for production.
- Create detailed engineering drawings: Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using industry-standard software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks) to provide layouts for customer approval and installation instructions for the production team.
- Create sheet metal designs and produce.DXF files and manufacturing instructions for suppliers.
- Continuous improvement: Collaborate with the production team to identify areas for design optimization, cost reduction, and process improvements, and actively contribute to ongoing product development initiatives.
- Occasional day trips to branch offices in Abbotsford and Calgary.

**2.** **Qualifications**
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as Fusion 360 and/or SolidWorks (specifically sheet metal design), for 2D and 3D design. (Diploma or bachelor’s degree in design or a related field preferred).
- Proven experience in mechanical design drafting, preferably in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. (hands-on experience preferred)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in a cross-functional team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality designs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
