**JOB OVERVIEW**

The Donor Communications Specialist will support the development of fundraising and stewardship communications in a variety of channels, campaigns and programs.

Your exceptional copywriting skills will help support the donor lifecycle through the creation of engaging and impactful donor-centric communications. You pride yourself on attention to detail and are able to effectively edit content with an eye to brand standards, language and grammar. Your creativity helps you to create engaging content for diverse audiences across a variety of media including long-form for print and short-form for digital. You are organized, excel at time management and are able to juggle competing priorities within the Mass Marketing department and Revenue Development vertical. A team player, you are collaborative and are able to build strong relationships with your colleagues.

**This is a full-time, 9-month contract position.**

**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:

- Collaborate in the content development, execution, optimization and expansion of national fundraising campaigns to grow revenue and improve retention.
- Create engaging and effective copywriting across a variety of fundraising and stewardship communications, including annual campaigns, product and program content marketing and the donor enewsletter
- Support the research and identification of cross-platform content, including appropriate storytellers, in support of fundraising and donor journeys across a variety of programs and products.
- Leverage appropriate imagery, video or other rich content to amplify and optimize donor communications.
- Manage, coordinate and facilitate French translation of donor communications material.
- Co-ordinate with internal teams on the go-to-market process for implementation of assets
- Optimize fundraising content based on performance insights.
- Provide project management and administrative support to the Donor Communications and Stewardship team.
- Contribute to the content development of new Mass Marketing initiatives.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of The Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, and comply with the Canadian Cancer Society’s Health & Safety Policy
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Undergraduate degree, preferably in fundraising, marketing or communications
- 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising and/or stewardship communications in a not-for-profit organization
- Demonstrated experience developing and writing communications in a variety of media including print, digital and video - and a strong portfolio to share
- A consummate storyteller with strong instincts for emotional storytelling
- Outstanding writing and editing skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong research skills
- Project management skills
- Time management skills
- Relationship management skills necessary to build strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders
- A collaborative team player with the ability to be proactive and take initiative
- Ability to plan and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (English/French) a strong asset
