**People & Culture Generalist**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Work with and support the Payroll Administrator and London Ward Clerk to collect, review, edit and submit payroll time sheets for processing.

Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures reflecting operational needs and are compliant with relevant legislation. Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Support the recruitment process in the Congregation. Work with Administrators and Supervisors to assist in recruitment and relevant paperwork. In consultation with the Director of Human Resources and/or Administrators, recommend employment terms for employees.

Encourage Congregation-wide employee training and leadership development programs to enhance the skills of our team members.

Oversee the development, training, and implementation of strong Congregational-wide feedback conversation processes that align with the Congregation’s values and goals.

Provide guidance on performance issues, disputes, and disciplinary situations, and may act as a facilitator in conflict management and resolution.

Support the safety and security of employees and workplaces and ensure that employees work safely and in compliance with Health & Safety procedures and that staff have the appropriate safety training to safely perform their job.

Manage the corporate benefit and wellness programs.

Work with the Payroll Administrator to ensure the pension plan is administered in accordance with the appropriate policies and procedures.

Celebrate milestones and employee achievements through effective employee recognition programs.

Travel when necessary to congregational offices in Ancaster and Peterborough.

Other duties as assigned.

**KEY COMPETENCIES**:

- A degree in Human Resource Management or related field (e.g. Organizational Development, Public Administration, Business Administration) and a minimum of five to ten years of progressive human resource management
- Demonstrated willingness to understand and appreciate the values related to the work of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills to build effective collaborative relationships within the Congregation.
- A technical proficiency with the MS Office Suite and virtual meeting software.
- An intermediate understanding of payroll processes and experience in Sling scheduling software and/or Sage payroll is beneficial.
- Ability to speak publicly and articulately as well as make decisions on complex and sensitive issues in an impartial and authoritative manner while balancing multiple competing interests.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

This position is housed in our London Main Residence and proof of vaccination up to and including the booster (3rd dose) is required for all new hires. We also require a recent vulnerable sector police check.
